IT’S OUR MONTH OF GATHERING SHEAVES.

KEEP YOUR DREAMS ALIVE – PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).

Many young people today are in crime and in all kinds of vices because they’ve given up on their dreams – the dream of youth, and of a triumphant personality. Some have laid aside their best potentials and resigned to self-defeat, instead of being inspired to birth new inventions and create a more functional world. How sad!

A young person who degenerates to crime and violence lacks understanding, destroys his or her life. God made us in His image and His likeness. “In His image” means He made us to look like Him, while “in His likeness” means He made us to function or act like Him. If you aren’t functioning like Him, you’re malfunctioning, and that’s not God’s dream for you. He has a great future planned for you.

What kind of life do you want to live? Hold on to your dream of success! When the fears and pressures of youth besiege you, don’t give up; don’t cave in. Rather, look inside you and ask yourself, “Why am I here if God had no plans for me? If He wanted me poor, why all the wealth of this world?” God is your Father, and He says, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine…” (Haggai 2:8 ). He also says, “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills” (Psalm 50:10). Why all these, if not for you?

Understand that there’s something more for you. Don’t stop where you are; stay inspired and keep your dreams alive. Study God’s Word: it’s your compass to help you with God’s direction for your life. Stay in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and fellow Christians who love the Lord, and keep your dreams alive.
