Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome shared a story illustrating a crucial life lesson involving a father-in-law and his son-in-law.

According to the story, a young man entered into matrimony with a lady from a highly esteemed family. The Father-in-law, recognizing his capabilities, entrusted him with a lucrative contract to construct a multi-million-dollar house. 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘

Few days after the contract, the father-in-law embarked on a journey abroad. Adequate funds were allocated for the construction, ensuring a quality build from start to finish. However, the son-in-law opted to use counterfeit materials for the construction.

Upon the Father-in-law’s return, the son-in-law went asking him to come inspect the house. The father-in-law questioned the son-in-law about the authenticity of the materials used for the building. Confidently, the young man affirmed that he had indeed obtained approval for the materials. The Father-in-law then revealed the startling news that the house, ostensibly constructed for him, was meant for the son-in-law and his daughter.

Overwhelmed with regret, the son-in-law wept, realizing he had constructed a counterfeit dwelling for himself, mistakenly believing it was for his father-in-law.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱? Just like the case of this young man, this story serves as a poignant reminder: in all our endeavors within the House of God, let us not lose sight of the fact that we are ultimately building ourselves a house.
