Matthew 20:26-27 KJV β…Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servantβ
βΆοΈ LET’S TALK
The opening scripture underscores the responsibility of serviceβselfless serviceβas a key to greatness! Today, the Lord lets us know that whoever must be great should be a servant, a minister. As used above, the word βministerβ is from the Greek word βdiakonos,β which means an attendant, one who serve s or runs errands for others, one who renders selfless service.
Youβve been called to service, both of God and of mankind. God is more mindful and concerned about people than anything else. Thus, when you serve people by the things you do daily, the Lord will be mindful of you and bless you as well. Heβll cause everything you do to prosper.
The Bible says thereβs profit in all work (Proverbs 14:23). In other words, when you faithfully render service, youβll surely prosper. Greed has stopped many from serving their nation and people as they should. Donβt let that be your story. Refuse to yield yourself to such. Become motivated by the joy of service. Be inspired by the importance and relevance of what you do towards the betterment of your society. It may seem as insignificant as a drop in a bucket, but donβt stop; keep at it! Keep yourself relevant and indispensable to your generation by choosing to serve, for that is the pathway to greatness. Be inspired to serve!

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for inspiring me today to be service conscious and to be motivated by the dream of impacting others with the investment of my personality. I receive increased grace and wisdom to serve you and those for whom Christ died, in Jesusβ Name. Amen.

Today, look out for someone to help and give your best to be of service to that person. You could offer to help mow someoneβs lawn, babysit a neighbourβs child, or clean the dirt and clutter in someoneβs house, all for free!
