QUESTION – Chinwe (USA): Pastor, I thank God for your life. Your teachings have impacted my life and that of my family positively, and I thank you very much. My question is about the blood of Jesus. Is it right to pray with it? For example, covering your house, children and so on with the blood of Jesus.

ANSWER: Well, this is one of those many things that a lot of Christians have wrongly applied to their lives because of ignorance. They go shouting the blood of Jesus, and they say “I sprinkle the blood of Jesus.” You don’t have the authority to sprinkle the blood of Jesus. In fact, where did you get the blood from? You have no access to that blood. Jesus Christ presented His blood to God in Heaven, in the most Holy Place in Heaven, at the Mercy Seat in Heaven. You have no access to it. Only the High Priest could sprinkle the blood, only the High Priest. You’ve got to understand that. And before the office of that High Priest was established, Moses was the one who sprinkled everything with the blood of calves back in the Old Testament.  This is very important. Who has the right to sprinkle the blood? It’s not the Christians sprinkling the blood on himself or on anyone else. It’s just the talk; they have no access to the blood. Let me show you something from the Bible very quickly. The Bible calls it the blood of sprinkling. Okay.

So, I’ll like to go straight to Hebrew chapter 9 from verse 19, “For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. Moreover, he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood, and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was, therefore, necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.[Praise God!] For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:”[Hebrews 9:19-24]  That’s wonderful. It says Moses functioned in the type and Moses sprinkled all things with blood; it was Moses who did that.

He didn’t say all the Hebrews sprinkled themselves with blood. They were God’s covenant people, but they weren’t going around sprinkling themselves with blood. That was a responsibility for Moses; afterward, the High Priest did it. Now when I say the High Priest, it is important for us…it’s just the ministry of the blood at the Mercy Seat, but no longer really having to sprinkle the law because that was the beginning of the testament, so Moses had to do it. But, I want you to follow this [Hebrews] because it did say that Jesus Christ didn’t enter into the figure but into Heaven itself to appear before God for us.

blood of Jesus

In Hebrews chapter 12 and verse 24 it says,“And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant [Moses was the mediator of the old covenant; Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant], and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. [Hebrews 12:24]” Let me read to you from Hebrews chapter 8 verse 6, “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant [talking about Jesus], which was established upon better promises. [Hebrews 8:6]” Jesus Christ is the mediator of this better covenant. So it’s Jesus. Let’s go to chapter 9, Hebrews chapter 9. Now you can catch the whole picture. From verse 14, let me take it from verse 13, “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause, he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. [Hebrews 9:13-15]” He is the mediator of the New Testament by means of death. So he sprinkled his own blood on the New Testament.

He sprinkled it on the Mercy Seat. He purged us with his own blood, and he has already done it. He doesn’t have to do it again. Moses had to do that once and ratify the Old Covenant. Jesus had to do His once and ratify the New Testament; He’s already done it. So we are already purged; we are already cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. So, He, the High Priest [Jesus Christ, the mediator of the New Testament] was the only one who had the right to sprinkle the blood, and it was His own blood. He’s already done it [and] no one else can do it; the blood is sprinkled on the Mercy Seat in heaven. You can’t have access to it, and it was not the responsibility of everybody. So you can’t sprinkle the blood.

So that’s it and it’s very important that you realize it. So those who say it are just talking. It’s like saying “twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are.” It doesn’t mean anything when you say I sprinkle the blood of Jesus Christ. You don’t have it and you can’t sprinkle it. So it makes no sense to say it.

    • Thanks sir and God bless.

    • The answer to sis Chinwe question by bro Chris is so tiring cos the question wasn’t answered or is sprinkling n covering the same? let’s use the catholic n penticostal baptism for example, now d catholics sprinkle water in their baptism while penticostals immerse people in water which is the burial n resurration of christ or are these two processes the same? shine ur eyes very wel and look into the explaination n d question they’re two diff things. wel as for me the blood of Jesus is stil very very useful to me bcos it has been working for me it wil stil continue to work for me. I AM COVERED WITH THE BLOOD OF JESUS, I BLESS AND COVER MAY HOUSEHOLD N MEALS WITH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, et.c…..

      • Here is the point, whatever you do as a Christian, it’s important you ask yourself what does God think about it or what does the scriptures say. You brought in a different topic about baptism but that is not the subject… the Word of God has an answer for that too.

Let me give you a simple example from the bible using Moses. God told Moses to talk to the rock when the children of Israel needed water… because the people were mounting pressure on him, he didn’t talk to the road but rather he stroked the rock. When he did, did water came forth? Yes, water did but the consequence was that he couldn’t enter into the promised land. The same way, it might work for you but imagine what you would have enjoyed if you were walking in the light of God’s Word. It’s a choice…but we only brought the truth to as many who needed answers or clarifications to the question.

  8. wow thank you sir for this mindset I wish many around the world could know this and stop been ignorant

  9. Very good answer but Chinwe question to my view still left some answer; covering
your house, children and so on with the
blood of Jesus. not sprinkling with the blood of Jesus. i think there is different between.

Jesus is the High priest who sprinkled his own blood on the Mercy Seat to purge the sins of the world. Jesus is the mediator of the new
covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling,
that speaketh better things than that of

But by faith, believing the power in the blood of Jesus is protecting and healing etc to whosoever believes HIM as he is the
mediator of the new testament, speaking i covered house etc with the blood of Jesus is to say that Satan don’t touch! since we have been purchased by that price in Christ.

    • @Bro. Chris.Thank you my brother for allowing the Holy Spirit answer that question through you. I hope sister Chinwe will be able to see this wonderful coment. God bless you .

      • It’s the same thing. In Christianity, Everything given to us has its own responsibility.the blood of Jesus is not for covering houses, people or any other. The The Holy Spirit is the one responsible for protecting us, angels does protect and the Word of God in us. The blood always has something to do with sin. It’s still wrong to cover your house Children and other things with the blood. God said I will protect and guide you, that is through the ministry of the Holy Spirit

        • Yes the blood isn’t for covering. Its the holy spirit & angels responsibility to “cover” you and your household.

          • The blood is not for protect like many folks sees it. The children of Israel under Moses had to use that and when the angel saw it, their home were spared.

This teaching is so big and important because many in the church haven’t understood it. A very big teaching that the church need to understand. See, we are far better than the children of Israel. Jesus is our perfect example and not the children of Israel. What Jesus did for us is far better than what religious folks are doing in the name of protection. When you come to understand the scriptures, you laugh at those doing the covering without knowledge of the scriptures. According to pastor Chris, it like you saying twinkle twinkle little star ⭐️ The early disciples never practiced it.

Let’s just pause to think, who exactly is a Christian? The bible say we (Christians) are seated together with Christ in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power… If the Word of God is true, so why will you… (a Christian) one who is far above all principalities be looking for protection from something you are above? The children of Israel were not placed in that position which Christ has brought us into. There’s no other place in the scriptures that tells us that Israel did that again. To have a doctrine, the bible say there must be two to three witnesses. So doing it base on the witness of one occasion will be the highest level of unbelief on the ability of God. There’s no where in the scriptures that the Apostles admonished people to do that… They all lived by the power of the Spirit and we are to do the same. The scriptures says, we are to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might and on some religious rituals.

        • Please Try n educate people rightly being a bible scholar doesnt mean u knw it all, calling n covering myself n household with the blood of JESUS has worked for us time without number. so i can’t start giving instances where n how it has worked 4me n others, call on JESUS & his BLOOD in any situation he’ll bathe, cover, deep, soak, shower u with it while d devil n his cohorts will flee from u. He owns his blood n he knows wat to do with it wen his children call on him Which Happen to be the sacrifice, d price he paid to redeem n bought us in order for us to be save n no one should comfuse any about it. Shalom

          • In the days of ignorance God over and now He commands all men to repent…

As Christians, we’ve been given authority to resist the devil and his demons and they will flee. Trying to do it otherwise is functioning in the wisdom of men. All that Jesus told us to do with the blood was to take it (drink it) in remembrance of what He did (consummated ) for us. Functioning outside the scriptures is like trying to manipulate God to do. Get knowledge and function in the light of it.

        • Thank you Pastor for bringing this wisdom to light. And for those who cover or sprinkle the blood of Jesus on material things like houses and cars, that alone is an abuse cos Jesus did not die for things rather for the souls of men.
