CONFESSIONS BASED ON REVELATION ~ PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus (Hebrews 3:1 NKJV).
When we talk about “confessing” or speaking in conformity with the Word of God, itโs not mere “positive talking” or a formula for getting God to do something. Thatโs not what the Word teaches. “Confession” is from the Greek word, “Homologia,” and it means โspeaking the same thing in consent or agreement.โ It means to declare openly, by way of speaking out freely, your deep convictions based on what God has said.
Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “โฆfor he hath saidโฆSo that we may boldly sayโฆ.” Therefore, confession is the proclamation of that which God has said: declaring words that are consistent with His provisions, plans, and purposes. Your confessions must be based on the revelation of the Word of God. This isnโt the same as the person who for example, feels pain in the stomach, and says, “I donโt have stomach painโฆ”; thatโs not confession. The idea of confession isnโt that you deny facts, or that you say, “Iโm healed,” so that youโd be healed; no. Rather, when you say, “Iโm healed,” itโs founded on the truth that you know from the Word of God that you have the life of God in you! You haveย the present-hour consciousness that the same Spirit that raised up Christ from the dead, dwells in you, and vitalizes your mortal body; therefore youโre speaking on the basis of that revelation.
This explains why some people donโt get the right results even though theyโve been making “positive confessions” as it seems. We donโt “confess” the Word so that something will happen; we speak the truth. We tell it as the Word says; you declare that which already belongs to you in Christ, and not what youโre trying to get. Right now, declare Godโs Word concerning your life, family, finances and ministry.
