Jesus wasn’t talking figuratively when He said, “…whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” He was showing us the efficacy of our words. It doesn’t matter what situation or circumstance in which you’ve found yourself; you can effect changes with your words! Recall how the tongue is described in our opening text; it’s called a fire. That means with your words you can burn up everything in your life and in your path that is inconsistent with the perfect will of God.
