DON’T ACCEPT POVERTY! ~ PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

There’s nothing in God’s character or in His personality that suggests that He wants His kids poor. Poverty is not from God. 3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Religious Christianity had made many believe it’s God’s will for them to be broke or poor, but the Word reveals otherwise. Don’t believe in poverty; because the one who is poor can’t help someone else, and God wants us to be givers; He wants us to bless others.

The poor are often marginalized; they don’t have a voice, and very easily, they settle for anything, and always have to plead for everything. That’s not the life of a child of God; you’re a prince. Financial prosperity is your right in Christ; and God’s Word will help you, direct you, and position you to live that prosperous life that’s been ordained for you in Christ. As you continue in the Word, the Word will establish you in the path that God has planned for you; and there’s no poverty on that path.

don't accept poverty

Think about it: If God loves you, which He does, why would He want you poor? He’s not poor; so why would He want His kids poor? His plan is for you to have more than enough so you can help other people; so that through you, He can express His love to others. You might say, “But I can’t pretend to be rich when I don’t have anything.” Poverty, really, has nothing to do with what you have or don’t have. Poverty is a description of inability; it’s a state of mind—a mentality that’s not right for a child of God to have.

Think and talk prosperity, for that’s the will of God for you. Say like David, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). The Word testifies of your prosperity; take this as the reality and be unapologetic for accepting prosperity as a way of life.
