STRETCHING YOUR HANDS TOWARDS AN INDIVIDUAL…

1. Dear Pastor, most times when a pastor is about to minister to someone, the congregation is asked to stretch their hands towards the individual before the Pastor rounds off the prayer. What is the significance of that?

When we stretch our hands, we are directing the anointing over something or someone. We are directing the power over what we pray for or about.

2. Dear Pastor, my father was sick, I prayed that he will not die but he later did, does it mean that we cannot prevent death?

If the father was born again, he could have seen the other side of heaven and does not want to come back. At some other times, it could be the will of God concerning her, so give thanks, and hurt no more.

MESSAGE FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER.
I am guessing you already knew the Word for the month, but I am also quite certain you may not be able to put it the way it is.

Let’s read from First Corinthian Chapter 14, we’ll read verses 14 and 15 and another verse below it. “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Praying in the understanding is the also part of praying. It’s given less emphasis. Ahead of praying in the understanding is praying in the spirit. “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬.

“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:2-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬.

Praying with the spirit is praying in the spirit. Speaking mysteries. Praying in the spirit is for your edification. Praying in the understanding blesses others. Praying in tongue is the same thing as speaking in tongues, because when you pray, you speak.

Did Paul write this to only the Corinthian church? No, he wrote to the Ephesian church as well. The Ephesian church was more mature, so he didn’t break it down to them as he did to the Corinthian church. “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Praying with all kinds of prayer and entreaties in the spirit. I study with the gift of the word of knowledge. There’s a detail teaching on this.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel – Ephesians 6:18‭-‬19 NIV.

Pray in the spirit. The Ephesians church also knew about praying in the spirit. Pray in the spirit on all occasions. On all occasions because it’s very important. We build, edify ourselves. Oh. Hallelujah.

Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people). And [pray] also for me, that [freedom of] utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (the Gospel) – Ephesians 6:18‭-‬19 AMPC.

That’s why Elo came back, that’s why Emmanuel came back, we are ministering in the spirit. In the spirit, her parents had inside information. The demons can’t stand the Word of God. Pray in every season, pray in the spirit.

He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself, but he who prophesies [interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies and improves the church and promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness] – 1 Corinthians 14:4 AMPC.

Improving yourself. We can improve ourselves.

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Your spirit gives you utterance by the Holy Ghost. You are inspired by the Holy Ghost. Building up. Same word. Super imposition. Building up yourself. Build up, not just build.

But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit – Jude 1:20 AMPC.

When it looks like things are not working, speak in tongues of the Spirit. We can improve ourselves by praying in tongues.

That’s why this month is the month of AUTO-EDIFICATION. Auto-edification means self-edification. No one can do this edification for you, you have to do it yourself. By the end of month, you will be in another level in your life.

Everytime, we will be praying in tongues. You’re going be building yourself, make progress, rise like an edifice. My life is like a building for the Lord, you’re God’s temple, a beautiful edifice, you’ll be in another level in your life.

Speak in other tongues. Pray in the Holy Ghost. Oh, thank You Lord Jesus. Hallelujah. Thank You Lord Jesus.
