Affirmation Train You Can Change Any Situations With Words
SICKNESS ISN’T NORMAL BY REV. (DR.) CHRIS OYAKHILOME DSC. DSC. DD.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 1:2).
Sometimes there’re Christians, and even ministers of the Gospel who’re working hard for the Lord, but at the same time struggling with some ailments, some kinds of pain or sickness in their bodies. Some say it’s “normal” to get sick, citing the Prophet Elisha, who, in spite of how anointed he was, died sick (2 Kings 13:14).
They also reference Epaphroditus that worked with Paul who, in his fervor to serve the Lord, became seriously ill and almost died (Philippians 2:30). Thus, to many, sickness is normal. But no, it’s not! First, the Bible never told us to model or pattern our lives after Elisha or Epaphroditus! Jesus is our example— the One we’re to emulate—and the Bible says as He is, so are we in this world (1John 4:17). He was never sick, and couldn’t be. He gave us the power to heal sicknesses and cure diseases.
Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11:1, said, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” There’s no record that Paul or the apostles were ever sick. Rather, they healed the sick. Read about Paul and Peter in the Book of Acts: Acts 19:11-12 & Acts 5:15-16 (study the entire reference).
Follow God’s Word. Model your life after the Word, after Christ, and learn from His great Apostles of faith. They were masters over the elements of this world. They spoke to all manner of sicknesses, diseases, and infirmities; they cast out devils who inflicted these pains on the people. That’s the life we have in Christ.
SPEAK IN OTHER TONGUES NOW
Refuse to be sick. Stick to the Word of faith that stirs you up in the things of God and in the way of the Spirit. Meditate on the truths of God’s Word. Romans 8:11 says, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” This has already happened now that Christ lives in you. Therefore, arm yourself with this insight and dominate sickness and disease. Rule over the depravities and negativities of this world, and their corrupting influences. Hallelujah!
SAY THESE WITH ME, ‘The truth of God is revealed in my spirit, and I’m walking accordingly. The Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in me, and He has vitalized me through and through! He’s the life and health of my physical body, and the Lord’s righteousness is revealed in my body. Hallelujah!

GIVE NO PLACE TO SICKNESS IN YOUR BODY
Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19).
As a believer in Christ, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. But you’re the custodian or caretaker of your body. Thus, you have the right to determine what happens to, and in, your physical body.
As the watchman over your body, it’s your responsibility to give no place to sickness in your body, for you stand to give account to God for whatever you allow or disallow in your physical body. You’re to permit in your body only those things that are consistent with the Word of God for your life. That means you’re to give no place to sickness, disease or infirmity in your body!
Sickness cannot stay in your body if you don’t allow it. Your body can only get sick when you endorse sickness, for until you endorse it, it’s nothing but a mirage. No wonder the Bible says they that dwell in Zion shall not say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). So as one who’s born again refuse to be sick. Take charge and rule over your body with the Word of God; refuse to yield your body to sickness.
When you see the symptoms of sickness in your body, refuse to consider them for they’re nothing but lying vanities. They only become real when you say they are, because what you say is what you get. This is what the Word of God teaches in Mark 11:23. “…he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Therefore, never say “I have headaches.” or “I have the flu,” or “I’ve got migraines,” or “I have diabetes”; never endorse sickness.
GOD’S WORD IS “MARPE”
(Don’t Give In To Any Kind Of Sickness)
“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22
The Hebrew word for “health” in our opening scripture is “marpe,” which means “medicine.” If someone were sick and dying and got a hold of the Word, he’d be healed and restored, because God’s Word is medicine. It brings to mind the testimony of a certain brother; he’d been diagnosed with cancer which, for many, is a death sentence. However, rather than being discouraged, he made up his mind to act on the Word for a miracle. He got several of our ministry messages and listened repeatedly for weeks. After some time, he went for his next appointment with the doctors and they couldn’t find any trace of cancer in his body. The Word of God effected a cure and completely eradicated cancer.
Are you facing any challenge in your physical body today? The Word of God is medicine! Not only does the Word destroy sickness from the body, it keeps it immune to sickness, disease, and infirmity. Don’t give in to sickness. Christ already consummated the plan for your divine health; so, it doesn’t matter what the health condition is; place your hand on it and say, “In the Name of Jesus, I refuse to accommodate this infirmity.” Whatever part of your body the challenge is, tell it off in the Name of Jesus. You have authority in that Name; use it.
Someone might have been suffering with migraine for a long time; it’s time to say, “No.” Understand that Jesus took care of every form of pain that could have come to you. The responsibility is now yours to establish that victory in your life! That migraine is unnecessary; it’s time to drop it. Yes, you can, even now! You say, “Head, become normal, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth”; and it shall be so. Live in health. Choose to be full of life every day!
Exodus 23:25 “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
Isaiah 33:24 And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”; The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.
1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose [a]stripes you were healed.
Say these after me, ‘Dear Father, I thank you for the entrance of your Word brings light to my heart and produces health in my body. Your Word is working in me, making me healthy, vibrant, strong, and productive today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
*Use God’s Word For Healing And Health*
Matthew 8:16 AMPC “When evening came, they brought to Him (Jesus) many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick.”
Someone might be in a precarious health condition and gripe, “I’ve prayed about this sickness; I’ve cried; I’ve fasted, and nothing has changed; I don’t know what else to do!” Well, that’s because that one hasn’t acted on the Word. That’s what God expects of that person. When he or she acts on the Word, things change. There’s reality in the Word of God that’s beyond science and the senses. For example, when the world says an ailment is incurable, that limitation doesn’t include us, because when we lay our hands on the sick, they’re healed, irrespective of the condition.
We can heal all manner of sickness and disease with the Word. When we speak the Word, diseases dematerialise. It’s like what happened with Jesus in Bible days; they brought to Him many that were possessed with devils, and He cast out the spirits with His Word, and healed all that were sick. Notice that He did it with His Word. When He said, “Receive your sight,” the man that was born blind began to see. When He said, “Rise up and walk,” at His Word, the lame got up, walking and running. His Word restored even those that had their limbs amputated! There’s something about the Word of God!
Even as you read this, it’s possible you might have been diagnosed with cancer in your body: All you need do is, speak the Word! Therefore, call its name and say, “I command you to die in the Name of Jesus.” Say, “In the Name of Jesus, I cut you out!” It doesn’t matter what condition it is; perhaps it’s lameness, blindness, or some other disability; the power of God is available in His Word. Use the Word against it. No sickness can thrive in your body because of the impact of the divine life on your physical body. Hallelujah!

Say these out loud; say, ‘Divinity is tabernacled in my physical body! I’m a new creation, not subject to the elements of this world. I live the transcendent life! Divinity flows in every fibre of my being, in every cell of my blood, and in every bone of my body! I reign over sickness, disease, poverty and lack! I’m superior to satan. Glory to God!
