MY ORGANIZATION HASN’T PROMOTED ME.

MY ORGANIZATION HASN’T PROMOTED ME “Q&A” SESSION WITH PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.

QUESTION: I have worked in an organization for a few years now and have not been promoted, which is unusual. I do my work well, but all I get is a salary increase most times. Please help me sir; how can I get promoted? I want the power of promotion so that things can change. Thank you Pastor. From: Angie (Netherlands)

ANSWER
Well, as a child of God promotion belongs to you. Scripture Reference Psalm 75:6-7. The bible says promotion doesn’t come from the east or west or south, it comes from God. So, it belongs to you, you will be promoted but here is the problem; in many organizations. By the way, you know since you have been working in this organization for several years, I will like to remind you that it is not in their interest not to promote you, it is not in their interest. They would like to promote you, your development is in their interest, they will like to promote you but if they are not promoting you then may be some other issues even though you do your work well. They may be concerned that you might take you to a level of authority which they don’t think you have demonstrated that you can handle yet, and so they will rather increase your salary. You see… so what are you going to do, very simple

Develop new skills, leadership skills and then managerial skills. Develop! Learn this new skills. You see you are doing your work well but that doesn’t mean you are a leader because promoting you will mean taking you to the next level that might make you a leader and they may be concerned. You may not be able to function there you have got to prove yourself. So, develop new leadership and managerial skills. Study about such things and begin to put them to work over the next few months and you will be amazed. You will surely be promoted, so that is what you are going to have to do.
